I recently stumbled (literally) across a non-maintained cemetary in Pocopson Twp, Chester Co., PA. It is in the middle of some woods and is slowly but surely being covered by the same. There are the remains of a rectangular stone building (about 10' x 12') and approximately 20-30 gravestones, many of which are broken, fallen, eroded, etc. I documented as many as I could (I needed to do rubbings on several), and among these were three that had "U.S.C.T." on them. Not knowing what that represented, I did some searching and discovered the "colored troops". The information from the three is as follows:
Wesley Miller
|
James Raymond |
Geo. Bush

Bennie J. McRae, Jr. I hope that you can find some use for this information "lest we
forget".
