Franklin County, Mississippi; d June 21, 1925, Shreveport, Caddo
Parish, Louisiana) enlisted as a Private in Company "B" of Powell's
Regiment then was transferred as a Sergeant to Company "B" of the 48th
Regiment of the United States Colored Infantry. He served from
April 1, 1864 to January 4, 1866 when he mustered out as a Sergeant
in
Carrollton, Louisiana. His is buried at the Zion Rest Cemetery,
Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. On unknown date in
New Orleans, Louisiana, he married Amelia Brown; they had no
